Firm co-founder Myron Mackoff spent his first 8 years of practice with the Illinois Attorney General’s Environmental Law Division trying civil cases in courts throughout Northern Illinois. In May, 2002 he left the Attorney General’s Office to become associated with the law firm of Hubert, Fowler, & Quinn, later known as the Hubert Law Group. Under the tutelage of the late Donald Hubert, a former president of the Chicago Bar Association, Mr. Mackoff grew his civil practice to include complex corporate litigation, personal injury matters, tort defense, government representation and professional ethics representation. Mr. Mackoff quickly advanced in the firm, becoming a partner in January 2005. Mr. Mackoff worked closely with Mr. Hubert on the defense a number of multi-million dollar class-action and civil rights suits. While practicing with Mr. Hubert, Mr. Mackoff was given the opportunity to work on a number of pro-bono projects including the successful representation of a couple of Negro League baseball players whose baseball careers were being questioned by the Chicago Tribune and the Illinois Attorney General. In 2005, Mr. Mackoff was named one of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin's 40 Attorneys Under 40 to Watch. It was that honor that allowed him to renew his friendship with Travis Richardson.

After Mr. Hubert’s death in 2006, Mr. Mackoff was chosen to wind down the affairs of the Hubert Law Group and ensuring continuity of service for all of its clients. It was at that time that he had a chance meeting with Travis Richardson in the Cook County Law Library. The two both saw a significant opportunity presented in combining their practices. In June of 2007 the law firm of Richardson and Mackoff, Ltd. was incorporated. Since that time, the partners have worked together on cases for ExxonMobil, AT&T, Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown, the City of Chicago, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and Proviso School District 209. In 2008, the Circuit Court of the Northern District of Illinois and the Federal Trial Bar presented Mr. Mackoff with an award for Excellence in Pro Bono work stemming from a civil rights matter he was able to settle for a client who had been through six other court-appointed attorneys. Mr. Mackoff has repeatedly been named a “Super-Lawyer” by Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, the Federal Trial Bar, the Cook County Bar Association (CCBA) and Chicago Bar Association (CBA).
